LUND, Sweden (Interstat) — Kungsbacka defeated host IK Eos 85-63 on Saturday in women’s professional basketball. The visiting Kungsbacka led 30-18 after the first quarter and 43-35 at halftime, then outscored IK Eos 23-4 in the third quarter. Kungsbacka shot 33 of 75 from the floor, 7 of 20 from three-point range and 12 of 17 from the free throw line. IK Eos shot 20 of 54 from the floor, 7 of 25 from three-point range and 13 of 18 from the line. Kungsbacka added 24 assists, 13 offensive rebounds and five blocks while committing 23 turnovers. IK Eos had 13 assists, six offensive rebounds, six blocks and 31 turnovers. Kungsbacka’s Leyla Ozturk led with 22 points, 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Sandra Frau Garcia had 23 points and eight assists, Hilma Gross had 15 points, six rebounds, three assists and three blocks, Hallie Cowan had 17 points and Meg Newman had 12 rebounds. Kungsbacka improved to 2-0; IK Eos fell to 0-2.
