ESPOO, Finland (Interstat) — Kouvottaret defeated Tapiolan Honka 72-55 on Wednesday in a women’s professional basketball game. Kouvottaret built a 22-17 edge after the first quarter, led 37-30 at halftime and held a 50-39 lead through three quarters before pulling away. Henriikka Vahauski paced Kouvottaret with 17 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Ayana Emmanuel added 15 points, 11 rebounds and two assists. Kelly Moten contributed five points, 13 rebounds and eight assists. Maija Kuisma led Tapiolan Honka with 13 points, six rebounds, one assist and one block. Johanna Raty scored 12 points and added three rebounds and one assist. Lila Lampinen had eight points, three rebounds and two assists. Peppi Lohko scored 12 points, adding one rebound, one assist and two blocks. Mimmi Kaulo scored five points, grabbed nine rebounds and added one assist and one block. Sanni Makinen added 10 points, six rebounds and one assist. Ronja Orpo finished with five points, six rebounds, one assist and two blocks. Kouvottaret improved to 2-0, while Tapiolan Honka fell to 0-2.
