HELSINKI (Interstat) — HBA-Marsky Helsinki defeated Espoo Team 97-70 in women’s professional basketball Wednesday, improving to 2-0 while Espoo Team fell to 0-1. HBA-Marsky controlled the game, leading 27-15 after the first quarter and 61-23 at halftime. Espoo Team cut into the deficit with 28 points in the third quarter, but HBA-Marsky carried a 79-51 lead into the fourth. Espoo Team scored 19 in the final quarter, while HBA-Marsky added 18.

Nea Schreck led Espoo Team with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 22 minutes. Jessi Nenonen paced HBA-Marsky with 13 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocks in 26 minutes. Eevi Seppa added 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 blocks, Aluel Machol had 10 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks, and Tiia Talonen finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. Veronika Nanje scored 20 points, Anna Gardziella contributed 11 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists, and Duaa Aden added 6 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists.
