RESISTENCIA, Argentina (Interstat) — Instituto defeated Hindu Club de Resistencia 65-53 on Sunday in a women’s professional basketball game. The visiting Instituto opened with a 16-12 first-quarter lead. Hindu Club de Resistencia responded with 22 points in the second quarter to take a 34-27 halftime advantage. Instituto cut into the deficit with 18 points in the third quarter, while Hindu Club de Resistencia scored 11, leaving the game tied at 45 entering the final period. Instituto then sealed the road win by outscoring Hindu Club de Resistencia 20-8 in the fourth quarter. Instituto scored 16 points in the first quarter, 11 in the second, 18 in the third and 20 in the fourth. Hindu Club de Resistencia scored 12 in the first, 22 in the second, 11 in the third and eight in the fourth. Instituto improved to 1-0. Hindu Club de Resistencia fell to 0-1. Instituto will next face Rocamora and Deportivo Chanares.
