TARGOVISTE, Romania (Interstat) — Arad defeated Municipal Targoviste 84-75 on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game. Arad led 27-21 after the first quarter, 48-36 at halftime and 64-49 through three quarters. Municipal outscored Arad 26-20 in the fourth, but Arad held on. Kimberly Villalobos powered Arad with 26 points and 11 rebounds. Jaidynn Mason added 20 points, five rebounds and four assists. Eva Rupnik scored 13, Jovana Pasic had 12 and Nicoleta Mititelu chipped in four points and five rebounds. For Municipal, Bride Kennedy Hopoate scored 25 points with eight rebounds and two assists. Gabriela Munteanu posted 17 points and 10 rebounds. Lindsey Pulliam recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and two blocks. Cameron Thomas added 14 points. Arad shot 32 of 72 from the floor, 3 of 25 from three-point range and 16 of 26 from the free throw line. Municipal shot 24 of 50 overall, 5 of 12 from deep and 22 of 36 from the line.
