TURGUTLU, Turkey (Interstat) — Besiktas defeated Turgutlu 83-49 on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game, pulling away early and never relenting. Rennia Davis scored 20 points to lead Besiktas, while Meltem Yildizhan added 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Marieme Badiane also had 16 points, eight rebounds, three assists and one block. Besiktas shot 34 of 55 from the floor and 8 of 15 from three-point range, finishing with 13 assists and four offensive rebounds. Turgutlu shot 19 of 63 from the floor and 6 of 29 from beyond the arc. Dyaisha Fair scored 19 points for Turgutlu, and Zilan Kiran Ronahi added 11 points and six rebounds. Besiktas committed 18 turnovers, as did Turgutlu. Besiktas scored 24 points in the second quarter and 22 in the third. Turgutlu managed 13 in the first quarter and nine in the third. The win moved Besiktas to 2-0, while Turgutlu fell to 0-3.
