YEKATERINBURG (Interstat) — UMMC defeated visiting Dyn Novosibirsk 97-54 in a women’s professional basketball game Monday. UMMC controlled from the start, scoring 29 points in the first quarter while building a commanding lead. The home team added 18 points in the second quarter and carried a 47-38 advantage into halftime. UMMC led comfortably throughout and never allowed the visitors to mount a serious comeback. UMMC extended its lead with 28 points in the third quarter, then closed with 22 in the fourth. Dyn Novosibirsk scored 18 in the first, 20 in the second, 11 in the third and 5 in the fourth. UMMC improved to 3-0 this season. Dyn Novosibirsk dropped to 0-2. UMMC had opened the season with wins over Ivanovo and Vladimirskiy. Dyn Novosibirsk previously lost at home to Dynamo Kursk. The victory kept UMMC unbeaten and handed Dyn Novosibirsk its second loss.
