DUDELANGE, Luxembourg (Interstat) — Dudelange defeated visiting Grengewald Hueschtert 91-72 on Saturday in a LUX: LBBL women’s professional basketball game. Dudelange improved to 2-0, while Grengewald Hueschtert fell to 0-2. The host opened with a 27-15 first quarter and led 52-23 at halftime. Dudelange led 70-43 after three quarters. Grengewald Hueschtert outscored Dudelange 29-21 in the fourth quarter, but Dudelange’s early lead held. Catherine Mreches had 21 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 28 minutes for Dudelange. Shalonda Winton, a 5-foot-10 Pittsburgh, Pa., native and former CSU player, posted 22 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks in 27 minutes. Lauren Van Kleunen added 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in 32 minutes. Lara Jemming scored 9 points in 26 minutes, while Ines Gomes Jordao Beatriz had 5 points and 7 rebounds. Bethel Akilah led Grengewald Hueschtert with 10 points and 10 rebounds in 37 minutes.
