LULEA, Sweden (Interstat) — Lulea used a dominant second quarter to pull away from visiting Visby and earn a 105-74 women’s professional basketball victory on Saturday. Lulea led 26-14 after the first quarter, then outscored Visby 35-13 in the second to take control and lead 61-27 at halftime. Visby responded with a 29-point third quarter, but Lulea answered with 25 points in the fourth to seal the win. Visby scored 18 in the fourth. The visitors were unable to match Lulea’s second-quarter surge and trailed throughout the second half. Lulea’s defensive pressure kept the visitors from closing the gap. Visby’s record fell to 2-23, while Lulea improved to 31-3. The game was played at Lulea, Sweden. Lulea also defeated Visby 129-61 in their most recent head-to-head meeting earlier this season. Lulea has now won both meetings between the teams this season. Lulea next plays Brahe, while Visby will next host Norrkoping.
