UPPSALA, Sweden (Interstat) — Dara Taylor had 23 points and nine rebounds to lead Sodertalje over Uppsala 77-74 on Saturday in women’s professional basketball. Frida Eldebrink added 18 points and four rebounds for the visitors. Sodertalje led 18-16 after the first quarter, 45-34 at halftime and 59-45 through three quarters. Uppsala rallied in the fourth, scoring 29 points, but could not complete the comeback. Stephanie Visscher scored 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Uppsala. Amanda Kantzy added 13 points and eight rebounds, and Aaliyah Alexander scored 12 points with five assists. Wilma Sorensen contributed six points, seven rebounds and four assists. Patricia Elias scored seven points off the bench for Sodertalje, while Mikaela Gustafsson had four points, three rebounds and two assists. Edel Hjelle finished with three points and two rebounds. Uppsala’s record is now 19-8. Sodertalje improved to 20-14. Sodertalje has won the past two meetings between the teams. The teams are scheduled to meet again Jan. 6 at Sodertalje.
