Visby at Hogsbo

GOTEBORG (Interstat) — Hogsbo will host Visby on Saturday in a women’s professional basketball game matching two teams still seeking their first victory of the season. Both clubs enter at 0-3, giving the matchup added urgency as each tries to establish momentum in the early part of the campaign.

Visby has endured a difficult start and will look to Jayla Oden to carry much of the offensive load. Oden has been the team’s most reliable producer, including a 34-point, seven-rebound, two-assist effort in 38 minutes during Visby’s most recent game, a 90-64 loss at Kungsbacka. She also posted 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists in 36 minutes in a 71-64 loss to Norrkoping. Taylen Collins added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the latest defeat, while Isabella Kaukopaasi contributed 12 points and four assists.

Visby’s other results this season include the loss to Norrkoping and a 105-74 setback at Lulea. The visiting side will need a stronger defensive performance to slow Hogsbo and support Oden’s scoring. Oden’s ability to create shots and get to the free-throw line could be central to Visby’s chances of keeping pace.

Hogsbo also enters winless after a 76-64 loss at Norrkoping in its most recent outing. Olivia Wikstrom is the player to watch for the home side. She finished with 13 points, seven rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes in that defeat. In her previous game, she had seven points, six rebounds and three blocks in 28 minutes against Alvik. Gillan Darbo Pereira added 10 points and five rebounds in the latest loss, while Chance Bucher had 14 points, eight rebounds and one assist.

Hogsbo’s earlier results include a 78-67 home loss to Alvik and a 94-50 loss at Kungsbacka. The home team will count on Wikstrom’s inside presence and Bucher’s all-around contributions as it tries to secure its first win. Hogsbo’s home-court advantage could be significant in a matchup between teams with similar records.

Both teams have shown flashes on offense but have struggled to close games. Visby will need to contain Hogsbo’s balanced attack, while Hogsbo must limit Oden’s production and avoid allowing secondary scorers to get comfortable. The game offers each side a clear opportunity to break through. Visby is scheduled to host Brahe next, while Hogsbo is set to visit Lulea. Both teams will then continue a busy stretch of league play.

Interstat’s game simulator projects Hogsbo to win 80-62.
