SODERTALJE, Sweden (Interstat) — Sodertalje defeated AIK 80-56 Friday in women’s professional basketball. Sodertalje improved to 2-0, while AIK fell to 0-2. Sodertalje led 21-10 after the first quarter, 43-28 at halftime and 64-44 after three quarters. AIK scored 12 in the fourth, but Sodertalje answered with 16. Sodertalje shot 28 of 63 from the floor and made 16 of 20 free throws, while AIK shot 18 of 58, 9 of 31 from three-point range and 11 of 14 from the line. Sodertalje grabbed 14 offensive rebounds to AIK’s four and blocked five shots. Stella Gavriilidou led AIK Basket with 26 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Mikaela Gustafsson paced Sodertalje with 16 points and eight rebounds, Zuhayra Mohamed had 13 points and eight rebounds, Frida Eldebrink added 17 points, and Dara Taylor finished with four points, seven rebounds and six assists. Bati Assefa added eight points for AIK, Molly Vartanian Svensson scored six points and Susanna Appell had seven for Sodertalje. Lea Gnesutta scored 12 for AIK.
