LEON, Spain (Interstat) — Lucia Rodriguez scored 19 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead Leon to a 78-72 victory over Claret Valencia on Saturday in Spain’s LF2 women’s professional basketball league. Both teams shot perfectly from the free-throw line, Claret Valencia making 19 of 19 and Leon 20 of 20.

Leon owned the glass with 17 offensive rebounds compared to Claret Valencia’s seven. Claret Valencia shot 22 of 73 from the floor, but forced 29 turnovers while committing 17. Leon shot 27 of 69 and overcame 29 turnovers by holding a 17-7 edge on offensive boards and a 4-17 advantage in three-pointers.

Eva Cases paced Claret Valencia with 16 points, four rebounds and four assists. Irene Garrido added 12 points and four rebounds. Paula Vaquera contributed 13 points for Leon. Katiana Benitez finished with nine points and nine rebounds.

Leon improved to 20-8, while Claret Valencia fell to 19-8. The win avenged Leon’s 67-52 loss to Claret Valencia on May 2.
