SANTO ANDRE, Brazil (Interstat) — Clarissa Dos Santos recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds to lead Santo Andre to a 72-60 victory over SESI on Thursday night in Brazil women’s basketball league play. Jaqueline Silvestre added 17 points and four assists, and Giovanna Rocha contributed 10 points, nine rebounds, five assists and a block for Santo Andre, which improved to 12-10. Maria Albiero chipped in 15 points and seven rebounds, and Brenda Bleidao had 11 points. SESI, now 16-5, was led by Clara Pestillo’s 12 points off the bench. Aline Moura had 10 points, seven rebounds and three assists, and Maisa Marcal also scored 10 points. Mikaelly Freitas dished five assists. Santo Andre avenged an 80-75 loss to SESI on April 19, taking control early and leading by eight at halftime. Dos Santos, a 6-foot-2 center, played 30 minutes and also had three assists. She scored eight points in a win over ADRM Maringa on June 7.
