Turgutlu vs. Fenerbahce II
ISTANBUL (Interstat) — Turgutlu visits Fenerbahce II on Tuesday, May 5, in a Turkey B women’s professional basketball matchup at Istanbul, with first-place Turgutlu looking to extend its dominance over the home side.
Turgutlu (23-5 across all competitions) has won three straight meetings against Fenerbahce II (17-10), including a 64-63 nail-biter on Saturday, May 2, when Mikayla Cowling nearly posted a triple-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in 40 minutes. The versatile forward has been on a tear: 22 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 90-73 win over Yalova on April 25, and 18 points and 11 boards in a 72-68 road victory at Yalova three days later. Cowling also recorded a double-double of 13 points and 14 rebounds against Burhaniye on April 18.
Sumeyya Ozcan, a point guard, led Turgutlu in the May 2 win with 15 points, seven rebounds and two assists, while Ronahi Kiran added 19 points off the bench. Turgutlu has won its last five games dating to March 28, when it beat Fenerbahce II 68-57 at home. The visitors have not lost since a 79-66 decision over Burhaniye on April 18.
Fenerbahce II, meanwhile, seeks to snap a two-game skid against Turgutlu and regain form after a narrow defeat. Center Jada Rice pulled down 16 rebounds and scored six points in the May 2 loss, but the home side missed a chance to upset the league leader. Rice posted 20 points and 19 rebounds in an 80-78 win at Darica Basketbol Feneri on April 18, and added 16 points and seven boards in an 80-71 victory at Mersin II on April 28.
Ayse Yilmaz, a point guard, led Fenerbahce II in the May 2 game with 16 points, one rebound and three assists, and Zeynep Toremis chipped in 13 points. The home side has alternated wins and losses over its past four outings, including a 72-89 defeat to Istanbul GSK on April 11.
In the season series, Turgutlu holds a 3-0 edge: 75-48 on Dec. 6, 2025, and 68-57 on March 28, 2026, before Saturday’s one-point thriller.
Tipoff is set for Tuesday evening at a venue in Istanbul.
