Yalova vs. Turgutlu

MANISA, Turkey (Interstat) — The Turkey B women’s professional basketball league features a stark contrast in fortunes Saturday, April 25, 2026, as the visiting Yalova squad (9-16 overall) takes on the dominant home team Turgutlu (20-5 overall) at Manisa. Tipoff is set for Manisa Sports Hall.

Turgutlu enters the contest riding a wave of momentum, having won its last two outings decisively. Most recently, the home side defeated Burhaniye 79-66 on April 18. Forward Mikayla Cowling, a player to watch, posted a double-double in that victory with 13 points, 14 rebounds and five assists. Cowling also contributed 13 points, eight rebounds and five assists in a March 28 win at Fenerbahce II.

The two teams have already met twice this season, with Turgutlu winning both matchups. On March 22, Turgutlu defeated Yalova 99-79 at home, and on Nov. 29, 2025, Turgutlu claimed an 88-81 victory on the road.

Yalova, conversely, has struggled mightily, losing its last five games. The team fell 67-61 at Emlak II on April 18, despite a standout performance from forward Chantae Embry, who logged 33 minutes, scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Embry has been a bright spot for Yalova; she also posted 17 points and eight rebounds in a 85-56 loss at Istanbul GSK on April 4.

Yalova’s broader season has been a grind. The team has dropped nine of its last 10 games, with its only win in that stretch coming Feb. 10 against Mersin II, 91-89. Defensive lapses and an inability to close tight games have plagued the visitors.

For Turgutlu, the path to victory appears clear: leverage its depth and home-court advantage. Guard Yagmur Ozturk was the leading scorer in the April 18 win over Burhaniye with 26 points, while Kennedi Jackson added 14 points off the bench.

Yalova will need a complete team effort to compete. Beyond Embry, forward Ilknur Yildizhan contributed 10 points and six rebounds in the loss to Emlak II, and guard Rabia Celebi dished eight assists. However, Yalova has not scored more than 79 points in a game since Feb. 10.

The two teams will meet again Tuesday, April 28, in Yalova. But first, Yalova must find a way to slow a Turgutlu squad that has won 12 of its last 14 games overall.
