Preview: Faenza Looks to Sweep Season Series at Torino Teen

TORINO, Italy (Interstat) — A pivotal Italy A2 women’s basketball matchup with playoff implications is set for Saturday when Torino Teen hosts Faenza.

The visitors (17-8) enter with a two-game lead over Torino Teen (15-9) in the standings and confidence from a decisive 67-51 victory over the same opponent just four days prior, on Tuesday. That win extended Faenza’s current winning streak to four games.

Faenza’s Martina Guzzoni will be a focal point. The guard is coming off a strong all-around performance in Tuesday’s win, contributing 12 points, six rebounds and three assists in 35 minutes. She has been a consistent contributor during her team’s hot streak.

Torino Teen will counter with forward Francisca Chukwu, who recorded a double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds in the earlier loss. Chukwu has been a force on the glass, averaging over 12 rebounds in her last three contests. The home team will need a more efficient offensive performance after shooting poorly in the first meeting.

The rematch offers Torino Teen a quick chance for redemption on their home court. Faenza, however, has shown resilience on the road this season and will aim to solidify its position near the top of the table with a season-series sweep.

Tip-off is scheduled for Saturday evening at the Torino arena.
