AVELLANEDA, Argentina (Interstat) — Quimsa defeated Nautico Avellaneda 58-53 in a low-scoring women’s professional basketball game Saturday.

The visiting Quimsa secured a narrow victory in a contest defined by defensive effort. Selena Medrick led all scorers with 13 points for Nautico Avellaneda, but it was not enough to overcome Quimsa’s balanced attack. Rocio Iturre paced Quimsa with 11 points, while Sabrina Molina added 10 points and four assists.

The win improved Quimsa’s season record to 18-22. Nautico Avellaneda fell to 16-20 with the loss. The teams split their four-game season series, with each winning once on the other’s home court.
