SAN SALVATORE, Italy (Interstat) — Francesca DAngelo scored 24 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Selargius to a 72-71 victory over Alpo in an Italy A2 women’s professional basketball game.

DAngelo, a 5-foot-11 forward, dominated inside to help the hosts avenge a loss to Alpo from just four days prior. Her performance powered Selargius, which improved to 14-12. Alpo, which got 14 points and 24 rebounds from guard Antonia Peresson, fell to 19-7 despite a late rally that fell just short. Alice Gregori led Alpo with 16 points in the narrow defeat at San Salvatore.
