Sanga Milano vs. Vicenza
VICENZA, Italy (Interstat) — The league-leading Sanga Milano look to continue their dominant season when they visit a struggling Vicenza squad in an Italy A1 women’s professional basketball matchup Wednesday.
Milano (21-3), which boasts the best record across all competitions, arrives as a heavy favorite following a 72-43 rout of this same Vicenza team just four days prior, on April 11. The rematch tips off at Vicenza’s home court.
The visitors are powered by guard Susanna Toffali, who torched Vicenza for 20 points, five rebounds and four assists in the recent win. Toffali is averaging 19.7 points over her last three games, demonstrating the form that has made her a cornerstone of Milano’s championship-caliber season. The team has won nine of its last ten, with the only blemish a Feb. 28 home loss to Masnaga.
Vicenza (10-15), sitting well below .500, faces a steep challenge to avoid a season sweep. Their hopes will largely rest on forward Amanda Kantzy, who recorded 12 points and eight rebounds in the first meeting. Kantzy has been a consistent force on the glass, posting double-digit rebounds in three of her last four outings, including a 15-rebound performance against Ancona on March 21.
The head-to-head history and season trajectories heavily favor Milano. Beyond the 29-point victory last week, Milano’s offense has been consistently potent, scoring 70 or more points in eight of their last ten contests. Vicenza, conversely, has struggled with offensive consistency, failing to reach 50 points in three of their last six games.
For Vicenza to be competitive, they must find an answer for Toffali and improve significantly on their 43-point offensive output from Saturday. Defensive intensity and controlling the tempo will be critical against a Milano team that thrives in transition.
The game is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15, 2026, in Vicenza.
