RESISTENCIA, Argentina (Interstat) — Club Union Deportiva San Jose defeated Hindu Club de Resistencia 80-66 in a women’s professional basketball game Saturday, avenging two regular-season losses to the league leaders.

Aldana Gayoso led all scorers with 21 points for San Jose. Romina Moreira added 13 points and 12 rebounds, while Carolina Fernandez facilitated the offense with 10 points and eight assists. The win improved San Jose’s record to 19-17.

Despite a 22-point performance from Paola Alegre and a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double from Malvina D’Agostino, Resistencia fell to 27-13. The visitors could not overcome a cold shooting afternoon across the board.

The game, organized by the Argentina Basketball Federation, saw San Jose control the tempo throughout to secure the home victory.
