Reyer Venezia vs. Roseto
Preview: Reyer Venezia Looks to Continue Dominance Against Roseto in Serie A1 Women’s Basketball
ROSETO, Italy (Interstat) — The surging Reyer Venezia women’s basketball team visits struggling Roseto on Monday in an Italy Serie A1 matchup, aiming to extend its recent mastery in the head-to-head series.
The game tips off at 8:30 p.m. local time in Roseto.
Venezia (30-10 overall) enters as a heavy favorite, having won the last three meetings against Roseto (10-13), including a narrow 78-75 victory just four days ago on April 2. In that contest, forward Joyner Holmes led Venezia with 19 points and eight rebounds in 26 minutes. Holmes has been a consistent force, averaging 14 points and 5.7 rebounds over her last three games.
Roseto, however, pushed Venezia to the limit in that recent loss behind a standout performance from Alyssa Ustby, who recorded a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Ustby has been a bright spot for Roseto, averaging 15.7 points and 10.7 rebounds over her last three outings.
The season series has been decidedly one-sided. Prior to last week’s three-point game, Venezia won 85-67 in Roseto on Jan. 10 and 95-73 at home on Oct. 19, 2025.
Venezia’s form has been formidable, winning nine of its last 10 games across all competitions. Its only loss in that stretch was a 66-68 defeat to Schio on Feb. 18. Roseto has been inconsistent, alternating wins and losses recently, but is coming off a two-game winning streak against Campobasso before the close loss to Venezia.
For Roseto to pull an upset, it will need another huge game from Ustby and must find a way to contain Venezia’s balanced attack, which also features productive players like Kaila Charles and Lorela Cubaj. Venezia will look to leverage its superior record and recent dominance to secure a road win before its next scheduled game at Girona on April 15.
The matchup pits one of the league’s top contenders against a team fighting to climb the standings, with Roseto seeking to prove its recent competitive showing was a sign of progress, not just a near miss.
