La Roche Vendee vs. Angers
ANGERS, France (Interstat) — Angers hosts La Roche Vendee on Tuesday in a France LF women’s basketball matchup featuring two teams struggling near the bottom of the standings.
Angers (12-23) is looking to build on a 93-69 win at Toulouse on May 6, its second victory in three games. Guard Cassidie Burdick led the way with 16 points, eight rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes. The forward Anna Ngo Ndjock added 26 points and five rebounds, while center Oumou Diarisso posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
La Roche Vendee (7-20) comes in losers of six straight, including a 53-72 defeat at Lyon on May 6. Forward Rita Igbokwe recorded eight points and 11 rebounds in that game, continuing a strong stretch. In the teams’ most recent meeting April 29, Igbokwe scored 18 points with nine rebounds in an 84-72 home loss to Angers.
The head-to-head series is split 2-1 in Angers’ favor over the past two seasons, with the home team winning each time. Angers won 84-72 on April 29 and 72-64 on Oct. 1, 2025, while La Roche Vendee claimed a 76-69 victory at Angers on Jan. 4.
Burdick has been productive for Angers in recent outings, averaging 9.3 points and 9.7 rebounds over her last three games. Against La Roche Vendee on April 29, she collected eight points, 12 rebounds and two assists.
Igbokwe has been La Roche Vendee’s most consistent performer, averaging 11.7 points and 12 rebounds in her last three contests. Her 18-point, nine-rebound effort against Angers earlier this season shows she can be a handful for the home defense.
La Roche Vendee also got 11 points from guard Stella Johnson in the Lyon loss, but depth remains an issue. Angers will look to exploit that with a balanced attack that saw five players score in double figures against Toulouse.
Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time at the Salle Jean-Bouin.
