Preview: Agronomia Hosts CSM Sportul in Women’s Basketball Clash

BUCHAREST, Romania (Interstat) — Two teams near the bottom of the standings will seek a rare victory when Agronomia hosts CSM Sportul in a Romanian women’s professional basketball game Monday.

The matchup at Bucurest in the capital city pits Agronomia (5-14) against CSM Sportul (6-13) in a quick rematch from last week.

CSM Sportul won the most recent meeting 76-60 on March 24 behind a dominant performance from forward Anisia Puscasu, who posted 23 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. She is the primary player to watch for the visitors.

For Agronomia, power forward Sonia Alexandra Cazacu is a key figure, coming off a 16-rebound effort in the loss to Sportul. Her interior presence will be critical for the home side.

The season series is tied 1-1. Agronomia won the prior matchup 55-49 at home on Jan. 10, demonstrating the competitive nature of this fixture despite both clubs’ struggles.

Both teams enter on difficult stretches. Since its win over Agronomia, CSM Sportul has not played. Before that, it endured a series of lopsided defeats, including a 103-43 loss to Arad on Feb. 28.

Agronomia’s recent form has been even more challenging. Following the loss to Sportul, its previous game was a 91-41 defeat to Rapid on March 2. The team has frequently struggled to score, failing to reach 70 points in any of its last five contests.

Monday’s game represents one of the more winnable opportunities left on the schedule for both sides. CSM Sportul will look to Puscasu to replicate her recent success and secure a season-series edge, while Agronomia aims to defend its home court and split the head-to-head series.

Tipoff is scheduled for Monday, March 30, 2026.
