Amager vs. Herlev
Preview: Amager Looks to Reverse Fortunes Against Herlev in Women’s Basketball Clash
HERLEV, Denmark (Interstat) — The Herlev women’s professional basketball team will look to continue its recent dominance over visiting Amager when the Danish clubs meet Saturday.
The matchup at Herlev Hall features two teams seeking consistency in the latter part of the season. Herlev (7-8) enters with a winning record, while Amager (3-12) struggles near the bottom of the standings.
Recent history heavily favors the home side. Herlev has won the last two head-to-head meetings decisively, including a 77-53 victory on Feb. 6. In that game, Herlev guard Victoria Lundin dominated with 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Amager’s last win in the series came on Oct. 18, 2025, a 60-47 home victory.
Lundin remains a key player for Herlev. She is coming off a 21-point, six-rebound performance in a 79-52 win over Horsholm on Feb. 27. Her backcourt matchup with Amager’s Isabella Palmqvist will be critical.
Palmqvist has been a bright spot for Amager despite the team’s losses. The guard is averaging 21.5 points over her last four games, including a 23-point, 10-rebound double-double in a loss to Falcon on Feb. 28. She also scored 23 points in the Feb. 6 loss to Herlev.
Herlev has shown more offensive potency, averaging 68.2 points in its last five games compared to Amager’s 61.2 over the same span. Herlev’s frontcourt, led by Isabella Marion and Katrine Jessen, who combined for 25 points and 17 rebounds in the last game, could exploit Amager’s interior defense.
Amager’s challenge will be finding secondary scoring behind Palmqvist and improving a defense that has allowed 77.3 points per game in its three most recent losses.
The teams will complete a home-and-home series later this month, meeting again in Amager on March 21.
