West Adelaide vs. Woodville
FLINDERS PARK, Australia (Interstat) — The undefeated West Adelaide women’s basketball team puts its 11-0 record on the line Sunday against Woodville at Flinders Park in a matchup that pits the NBL’s top offense against a host squad desperate to climb above .500.
West Adelaide (11-0) has dominated the season, winning each game by an average margin of more than 40 points. The visitors are coming off a 99-49 rout of South Adelaide on Saturday, in which guard Morgan Yaeger logged 21 points, eight rebounds and seven assists in 21 minutes. Yaeger, a player to watch, has been consistently productive: She posted 21 points, three rebounds and three assists in a 105-42 win over North Adelaide on May 23, and added 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists in a 93-66 victory against Sturt on May 9.
Woodville (7-6) enters the game after a 100-92 loss at Central Districts on Saturday, despite a 22-point, 12-rebound, four-assist effort from Naomi Allotey. The forward also recorded 33 points, eight rebounds and three assists in a 101-96 win over Norwood on May 23, and had 18 points and 10 rebounds in an 84-64 victory against Noarlunga City on May 9. Allotey will be a key figure for Woodville as it tries to slow West Adelaide’s high-powered attack.
The most recent head-to-head meeting came March 28, when West Adelaide beat Woodville 104-64 in West Adelaide. That result is part of a 10-game winning streak for the visitors dating to the start of the season. West Adelaide has not lost since the 2025 season, while Woodville has split its last six games.
West Adelaide’s depth was on display Saturday: Alongside Yaeger, Swiss guard Alex Ciabattoni contributed 18 points, six rebounds and three assists, and Chloe Hodges added 11 points and seven rebounds. The team’s balanced scoring has been a hallmark, with five players averaging double figures.
Woodville got 18 points and six rebounds from Sophie Kerridge in the loss to Central Districts, while guard Jordan Hunter handed out nine assists. The home team will need similar contributions to compete with the league leaders.
The game tips off at 2 p.m. local time at Flinders Park. West Adelaide continues its schedule June 13 against Eastern, while Woodville visits South Adelaide on the same date.
