MOUNT GAMBIER, Australia (Interstat) — A matchup of teams heading in opposite directions in the NBL women’s league takes place Friday, with the Mount Gambier Pioneers hosting the Ringwood Hawks at Mt Gambier.

Mount Gambier (7-6) enters the game following a narrow 84-81 loss to Casey on May 23 in which forward Abby Prohaska posted 19 points and eight rebounds. Prohaska is the Pioneers’ primary scoring threat, averaging at least 17 points in three of her past four appearances, including an 11-point, three-rebound, five-assist outing in a 95-69 victory against Bendigo on May 16.

Ringwood (1-11), by contrast, has lost six consecutive games and holds the league’s worst record. The Hawks fell 107-72 to Ballarat on May 23, with forward Taylor Mole scoring a game-high 24 points and grabbing seven rebounds. In four recent starts, Mole has averaged 16.3 points and 5.3 rebounds.

The teams last met March 28, when Mount Gambier defeated Ringwood 98-76 in Ringwood.
