Knox vs. Kilsyth

KILSYTH, Australia (Interstat) — The NBL women’s season continues Saturday as the Knox Raiders (11-4) visit the Kilsyth Cobras (4-8) at Kilsyth Sports Centre. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. local time.

Knox enters the contest riding a three-game winning streak, most recently a 91-73 road victory over Dandenong on May 23. The Raiders have won eight of their last nine games, with their lone loss a narrow 86-81 defeat at Melbourne on May 3.

Guard Paige Bradley has been a catalyst for Knox. In her past five outings, Bradley averaged 16.2 points, 3.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game, including a 27-point, four-assist performance against Dandenong. She also recorded a double-double threat with 22 points and eight rebounds against Mount Gambier on May 2.

Forward Agnes Emma Nnopu and center Alicia Froling have provided support. Nnopu grabbed 12 rebounds in the win over Dandenong, while Froling added 11 points and six boards.

Kilsyth, meanwhile, has struggled, dropping six straight games. The Cobras last won on April 16 against Waverley. Their most recent result was a 79-73 loss at Sandringham on May 24.

Guard Nikita Young has been a bright spot for Kilsyth. Over her last five games, Young averaged 13.8 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists. She posted 20 points, six rebounds and four assists in the loss to Sandringham. In a 97-51 defeat at Dandenong on May 9, Young still managed 16 points and four rebounds.

Forward Lily Exton has been a force on the glass, pulling down 13 rebounds against Sandringham. Center Catelyn Van Es added nine points and five boards in that game.

Knox leads the series this season. The two teams meet again July 11 at Knox.

The Raiders will look to extend their dominance behind Bradley’s playmaking and a deep roster. Kilsyth aims to snap its skid and protect home court, relying on Young’s scoring and Exton’s rebounding.

Saturday’s game marks the beginning of a busy stretch for both clubs. Knox travels to Ballarat on May 31, while Kilsyth faces Bendigo Braves on June 14.
