Basketball Preview: Warwick at Joondalup City

JOONDALUP, Australia (Interstat) — The Warwick women’s basketball team, carrying an 8-5 record and a recent surge of offensive firepower, will visit the Joondalup City Flames on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 7 p.m. local time in an NBL1 West matchup.

Warwick enters the game riding high after a 98-83 victory over Mandurah on May 29, a win that showcased the team’s balanced attack. Guards Chloe Forster and Jayda Clark both recorded double-doubles in that contest, with Forster logging 14 points, eight rebounds and 12 assists while Clark added 14 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Mackenzie Clinch Hoycard chipped in 18 points.

Forster, a player to watch for Warwick, has been particularly explosive in recent weeks. In her last five games, the guard has averaged 19 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.6 assists. She erupted for 35 points on May 8 against Willetton and has scored at least 14 points in four of her past five outings.

Joondalup City (4-8) will look to reverse its fortunes after a 93-78 loss at East Perth on May 23. The Flames, however, showed resilience in their most recent game, an 85-80 road win over Cockburn on May 29. Forward Kim Pierre Louis led that effort with 25 points and 10 rebounds, while center Yemiyah Morris contributed nine points and 14 rebounds.

Pierre Louis has been Joondalup City’s most consistent performer. In her last five games, she has averaged 17.4 points and 7 rebounds, including back-to-back 20-plus point outings against Willetton (26 points, nine rebounds) and Cockburn.

The teams last met on April 25, when Warwick defeated Joondalup City 94-79 at home. Warwick has won five of its last six games overall, while Joondalup City has split its last four.

Friday’s game is the first of a two-game road stretch for Warwick, which will visit Goldfields on June 13. Joondalup City will travel to Kalamunda on Saturday.
