Southern Districts vs. Gold Coast

GOLD COAST, Australia (Interstat) — The Southern Districts look to extend their strong start to the NBL1 women’s season when they visit the struggling Gold Coast on Friday, June 12, 2026.

Southern Districts enters the matchup at Carrara Indoor Stadium with a 7-3 record, tied near the top of the conference. Gold Coast, conversely, sits at 2-7, mired in a six-game losing streak dating to late April.

Forward Mikayla Cowling will be a focal point for the visiting side. In Southern Districts’ most recent outing (Interstat) — a 104-69 home loss to Townsville on June 7 (Interstat) — Cowling logged 23 points, seven rebounds, one assist and two blocks in 29 minutes. She leads the team’s recent offensive production alongside the backcourt duo of Jessica McDowell White and Hayley McDowell White.

Gold Coast will counter with guard Ariana Moorer, who has been the team’s most consistent performer through its recent skid. Moorer averaged 17 points, six rebounds and seven assists in a 87-78 loss at Cairns on May 30, and she scored at least 13 points in four of her past five games. Forward Emma Petrie and guard Juna Umezawa also contributed double figures in that loss against Cairns.

The game marks a critical juncture for both teams. Southern Districts, which has won three of its past five, looks to build momentum ahead of a Saturday fixture against Logan. Gold Coast, winless since an April 26 victory over Ipswich, seeks its first home win of the season.

Tipoff is at 7 p.m. local time.
