Noarlunga City vs. Forestville

GOODWOOD, Australia (Interstat) — Forestville hosts Noarlunga City on Saturday in a women’s National Basketball League matchup, with both teams looking to build momentum after mixed results.

Forestville (7-5 overall) enters the 7 p.m. tipoff at Goodwood on a high following a 104-76 victory at South Adelaide on May 31. Guard Samantha Simons recorded a triple-double in that game with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists in 36 minutes. Simons, a swing player, has been a consistent force, though she struggled in a 68-63 loss to Sturt on May 30 with just two points and seven assists.

Noarlunga City (5-7) is coming off a 78-70 loss at Norwood on the same day, despite 17 points and 11 rebounds from forward Holly Forbes. Forbes has been a reliable producer, posting double-doubles in three of her last four games, including a 25-point, eight-rebound effort in a 76-71 win at Central Districts on May 23.

The teams met May 2 in Noarlunga, with Forestville winning 81-69 on the road. That victory highlighted Forestville’s balanced attack, while Noarlunga has struggled to string together wins, going 3-4 over its past seven games.

For Forestville, forward Sydney Hunter added 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win over South Adelaide, and power forward Sarah Boothe contributed 16 points, four rebounds and five blocks. Noarlunga will also rely on forward Mollie McKendrick, who matched Forbes with 17 points and 10 boards in the loss to Norwood.

Saturday’s game is part of a tight midseason stretch. Forestville aims to solidify its winning record, while Noarlunga seeks to climb above .500. Both teams have key matchups in the weeks ahead, making this contest critical for positioning.
