Casey vs. Hobart

Preview: Casey Looks to Continue Hot Start Against Struggling Hobart

HOBART, Australia (Interstat) — A surging Casey squad visits a reeling Hobart team in a Women’s National Basketball League clash Friday at Hobart.

The matchup features teams on opposite trajectories early in the season. Casey (2-1) enters with momentum after a dominant 109-86 victory over Ringwood last Friday. Hobart (1-4) snapped a four-game skid with a 75-69 win over Northern Force on Saturday but remains in search of consistency.

All eyes will be on a compelling backcourt duel between Casey’s Dallas Loughridge and Hobart’s Tishara Morehouse.

Loughridge has been spectacular, averaging 27 points and 7.7 assists over her last three games. She is coming off a near triple-double, posting 34 points and 10 assists in the win over Ringwood. She is supported by a strong frontcourt presence in Samantha Bowman, who had 20 points and 14 rebounds in that contest.

Morehouse led Hobart to its first win, contributing 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists against Northern Force. She has been a bright spot, averaging 17.8 points over her last five outings. Hobart will need similar production, alongside interior efforts from Chloe Broomhall and Tyia Singleton, to counter Casey’s balanced attack.

Casey’s offense has been potent, averaging 88.7 points in its three games. Hobart, meanwhile, has struggled to score, averaging just 72.2 points per game and failing to reach 80 points in four of its five contests.

The game represents a critical opportunity for Hobart to build confidence at home and level its record against conference foes. For Casey, it’s a chance to solidify its strong start before a quick turnaround at Northern Force on Saturday.

Friday’s tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. local time at the Hobart venue.
