Canb. Nationals vs. Hornsby

HORNSBY, Australia (Interstat) — The Hornsby will host the Canb. Nationals in a women’s NBL game Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Hornsby. The home team enters with an 8-3 record, while the visiting Nationals are 3-7.

The matchup marks the second meeting in eight days between the teams. Hornsby won the previous game 95-83 on May 23 at Canb. Nationals. In that contest, AyAnna Bey posted 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Caitlyn Jones scored 22 points with six rebounds for the losing side.

Both players are expected to be central figures again Sunday.

Bey, a forward, has been a consistent force for Hornsby. In her past five games, she has recorded double-doubles in three, including a 24-point, 12-rebound performance May 24 at Centre of Excellence and a 22-point, 12-rebound outing May 16 against Inner West. She also had nine points and six rebounds in a loss at Northern Suburbs on May 10.

Jones, a guard for the Nationals, is coming off a dominant performance Saturday in a 100-41 win at Central Coast. She played 31 minutes and finished with 28 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Jones also scored 22 points with six rebounds in the May 23 loss to Hornsby.

The Nationals are looking to build momentum after that lopsided win over Central Coast, which snapped a three-game losing streak. Canb. Nationals’ other wins this season came against Penrith on April 25 and Illawarra on April 11. Their losses include a 95-53 defeat to Bankstown on May 16 and a 78-91 loss at Hills on May 10.

Hornsby has won three of its last four games, with the lone loss a 101-73 defeat at Northern Suburbs on May 10. The team has been dominant at home, with victories including a 104-72 win over Inner West and a 113-35 rout of Central Coast in late March.

Following Sunday’s game, Hornsby plays at Sutherland on June 13, while the Nationals travel to Centre of Excellence on June 4.
