Hartnell vs Cuesta
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. (Interstat) — Hartnell will travel to Cuesta on Wednesday for a women’s junior college basketball game between two teams in the early stages of the season. The Panthers enter with a 1-0 record, while the Cougars are 0-1.
Hartnell opened its season with a 92-76 victory at San Mateo in its most recent game. The Panthers produced a strong offensive performance in the road win and will look to carry that momentum into the matchup at Cuesta. Hartnell’s early schedule has the Panthers on the road again before a run of home games, and the visit to Cuesta gives the team another opportunity to build on its opening result.
Cuesta, meanwhile, is seeking its first win after a 66-58 loss at Taft in its most recent game. The Cougars will return home for the contest against Hartnell and will try to use the home court to get into the win column. Cuesta’s offense will face a Panthers team that scored efficiently in its opener, while the Cougars will focus on a stronger finish after coming up short in their first outing.
The matchup features Hartnell’s Panthers against Cuesta’s Cougars in an early-season contest. Both teams are working through their opening stretch of games, and the meeting provides each side with a chance to establish momentum. Hartnell will try to remain unbeaten, while Cuesta will aim to even its record and secure a home victory. The game is part of a busy stretch for both programs as they move through their nonconference schedules.
The contest is one of the early nonconference matchups for both teams. Hartnell’s opening win came on the road, and Cuesta’s opening loss also came away from home. The Panthers will be on the road again for the meeting with the Cougars, while Cuesta will play on its home floor. The game gives both teams another early-season test before their schedules continue.
Cuesta’s upcoming schedule includes home games against Santa Monica, Mission, Skyline, Reedley and Moorpark, along with road contests at Siskiyous, Santa Ana, Fullerton, Chabot and Oxnard. Hartnell’s coming schedule features home games against Diablo Valley, Allan Hancock, Shasta, Skyline, Feather River and Siskiyous, plus road games at Napa Valley, Merced, Sacramento City and Fresno City. Both teams will continue to test themselves against regional opposition after the Wednesday matchup.
The Panthers and Cougars will meet Wednesday with Hartnell looking to protect its perfect start and Cuesta seeking its first win of the season. Hartnell will aim to move to 2-0, while Cuesta will try to even its record at 1-1.
