STOCKTON, Calif. (Interstat) — San Joaquin Delta defeated visiting Shasta 79-60 on Sunday in a women’s junior college basketball game at the SJ Delta College Tournament. The Mustangs improved to 1-0 with the home victory, while the Knights fell to 1-2. San Joaquin Delta took control and held off Shasta, securing the win in the tournament. Shasta, the visiting team, finished with the loss. Shasta entered the game after a home win over Contra Costa and a home loss to Santa Rosa. San Joaquin Delta next plays at San Francisco. Shasta next plays at Marin. The Knights will then travel to Hartnell and Monterey Peninsula before returning home to face American River, Solano, Mendocino, San Jose and Siskiyous. The Mustangs are set to visit Mission, Sacramento City, American River and Folsom Lake and will host Folsom Lake, Sierra, Sacramento City and Santa Rosa. Shasta also is scheduled to play Siskiyous later in the season.
