MOORPARK, Calif. (Interstat) — The Cypress Chargers upset the Moorpark Raiders 66-55 in a women’s junior college basketball game Saturday.

Cypress built a commanding lead by outscoring Moorpark in each of the first three quarters, entering the final period ahead 58-39. Moorpark’s late push was insufficient.

Hannah Lising led all scorers with 22 points for Moorpark. Marina Leiva, the top star for Cypress, scored 18 points. Teammates Mariah Henderson added 20 points and Marina Interiano grabbed nine rebounds.

The loss was just the fourth of the season for Moorpark, which fell to 25-4. Cypress improved to 23-7. Moorpark had been a heavy favorite to win according to statistical projections.
