Taft 60, at Skyline 47

(Interstat) — The Taft College women’s basketball team earned a 60-47 road victory over Skyline on Wednesday night, overcoming the statistical odds. The visiting Cougars built a 34-21 halftime lead and maintained control throughout the second half to secure the win. Alesha Gordon led Taft with a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in just 19 minutes. Ella Waufle added a team-high 12 points for the Cougars. The result improved Taft’s season record to 18-10, while Skyline fell to 18-11. Interstat’s ELO system had projected the Trojans with a 60.5 percent probability to win the contest. Read more...
