FORT WORTH, Texas (Interstat) — Connecticut’s women’s basketball team remained undefeated, defeating Notre Dame 70-52 in an NCAA Division I playoff game Sunday at Dickies Arena.

The Huskies used a 20-point first quarter to build a lead the Fighting Irish could not overcome. Sarah Strong led Connecticut with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Hannah Hidalgo scored 22 points for Notre Dame.

Connecticut forced 18 turnovers and outscored Notre Dame 23-16 in the final period to seal the victory before a crowd of 11,335. The Huskies improved to 38-0, while Notre Dame’s season ended at 25-11.
