HARTFORD, Conn. (Interstat) — The top-ranked Connecticut women’s basketball team completed an undefeated regular season with a 98-45 rout of Syracuse on Monday night at XL Center.

The Huskies, now 36-0, overwhelmed the Orange from the start, building a 65-12 halftime lead behind 33 points in the first quarter and 32 in the second. Syracuse, which fell to 24-9, managed only eight points in the opening period and four in the second. Both teams scored 17 points in the third quarter and 16 in the fourth.

A crowd of 10,244 watched Connecticut maintain its perfect record, heavily favored by statistical models pregame. The combined score fell under the projected total. Syracuse was led by Aurora Almón.
