Preview: Wisconsin Badgers at Miami (FL) Hurricanes

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (Interstat) — The Miami (FL) Hurricanes, looking to build on a winning season, will host the Wisconsin Badgers in a nonconference women’s basketball matchup on Sunday, March 22, 2026.

The Hurricanes (18-14) enter with a more successful record than the visiting Badgers (14-17), but both teams are coming off victories in their most recent outings.

Miami dominated Georgia Southern 82-56 at home on Thursday. Guard Ahnay Adams orchestrated the win with 11 points and seven assists. Adams has been a consistent facilitator, averaging 6.0 assists over her last six games. Forward Amarachi Kimpson added a team-high 19 points in the win.

Wisconsin snapped a three-game skid with a 62-58 road win at Oregon State on Thursday. Freshman guard Dorja Iva Zaja led the Badgers with 18 points in 24 minutes off the bench. Zaja has provided scoring sparks recently, including a 16-point performance at UCLA on Feb. 22.

The Hurricanes have shown resilience at home, including an overtime win over then-Stanford on March 4. Their offense has averaged 74.2 points in their last five home games.

Wisconsin’s road victory at Oregon State was a positive step, but consistency has been an issue. Prior to that win, the Badgers had lost seven of eight, often struggling defensively in losses to ranked opponents like Iowa, UCLA and Illinois.

The matchup will feature contrasting backcourt styles. Miami’s Adams will look to control tempo and create for others, while Wisconsin will need continued production from Zaja and senior guard Destiny Howell, who scored 13 points against Oregon State.

This game is a final tune-up before postseason tournaments begin. Miami will seek to solidify its resume, while Wisconsin aims to build momentum and finish above .500 away from home.
