Missouri at Seton Hall

Preview: Missouri Tigers at Seton Hall Pirates

NEWARK, N.J. (Interstat) — The Seton Hall Pirates, looking to rebound from a tough offensive outing, host the Missouri Tigers in a nonconference women’s basketball game Thursday at Prudential Center.

The Pirates (19-12) enter having lost three of their last four, most recently a 62-48 defeat at Villanova on March 8 where they shot just 30.2% from the field. Seton Hall will rely on guard Zahara Bishop, who scored 13 points in that loss and had a 19-point performance against Villanova earlier in February. Her backcourt play will be key against Missouri’s pressure.

The Tigers (16-16) aim to snap a five-game losing streak, with their last win coming on Feb. 5. They are coming off a 65-48 loss at Alabama on March 4. Missouri has struggled against ranked SEC competition but showed offensive capability in a narrow 84-78 loss to Oklahoma on March 1.

A key matchup will feature Missouri’s Jordana Reisma against Seton Hall’s defense. Reisma has been a consistent scorer during the Tigers’ skid, averaging 12.7 points over her last three games, including a 15-point effort at Alabama.

Seton Hall holds a record and statistical advantage, but both teams have faced recent scoring droughts. The Pirates average 64.2 points per game, while the Tigers average 68.1 but have been held under 60 points in three of their last five contests.

Missouri leads the all-time series 2-1, though the programs have not met since 1994. Thursday’s game tips off at 7 p.m. EDT.
