WASHINGTON (Interstat) — A dominant third-quarter surge propelled the Monmouth Hawks to a 72-61 victory over the UNC Wilmington Seahawks in a women’s NCAA Division I basketball game Thursday afternoon at CareFirst Arena. The game, played before an announced crowd of 1,550, saw the visiting Seahawks hold a narrow 29-31 lead at halftime. The second half, however, belonged decisively to the Hawks, who outscored UNC Wilmington 41-30 over the final 20 minutes to secure their 21st win of the season against 10 losses.
