BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (Interstat) — Kaylah Turner scored 31 points and Temple dominated overtime to defeat Tulane 86-77 in an American Athletic Conference women’s basketball tournament game Tuesday at Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.

The Owls outscored the Green Wave 16-7 in the extra period after regulation ended tied at 70. Turner hit a critical 3-pointer early in overtime to spark the decisive run. Mecailin Marshall led Tulane with 25 points.

Temple, which improved to 15-16, used a 25-point second quarter to build a lead before Tulane rallied with a 31-point fourth quarter to force overtime. Tulane’s season ends at 11-19.
