MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Interstat) — Tulane held off a late push to defeat Memphis 63-58 in a women’s American Athletic Conference basketball game Tuesday night at FedExForum.

The Green Wave built a 33-30 halftime lead and maintained a narrow advantage through the second half. The Tigers pulled within a single possession in the final quarter but were held to 11 points in the period. The loss was the fifth straight for Memphis.

Tulane improved to 9-15 overall. Memphis fell to 8-17. The teams meet again Thursday in New Orleans. Attendance was 554.
