Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks vs. San Diego State Aztecs
NASSAU, The Bahamas (Interstat) — The Maryland-Eastern Shore Hawks (4-2) will face the San Diego State Aztecs (3-2) in a non-conference women’s basketball game Saturday at Imperial Arena.
The Hawks enter the contest on a two-game winning streak, including a 68-54 victory over Maryland-Baltimore County on Wednesday. Lainey Allen led the way with 11 points and eight rebounds, while Ashanti Lynch scored a team-high 15 points. UMES also owns a road win over Loyola Chicago this season.
San Diego State looks to rebound from a 72-47 home loss to Santa Clara on the same night. Nat Martinez and Kaelyn Hamilton each scored 12 points in the defeat. The Aztecs’ three wins have come against lower-division or mid-major opponents, while they fell to a Power Five opponent in UCLA earlier this month.
This neutral-site game is part of a multi-team event in The Bahamas. Both teams will play again Sunday, with UMES facing Princeton and San Diego State taking on Penn State.
