BERKELEY, Calif. (Interstat) — Zoe Best scored 19 points to lead the Charlotte 49ers to a 66-41 victory over the Oakland Golden Grizzlies in a non-conference women’s basketball game Sunday at Haas Pavilion.

Charlotte took control with a 20-point second quarter to build a 36-25 halftime lead and steadily pulled away, holding Oakland to single-digit scoring in each of the final three periods. Filippa Goula led Oakland with 13 points. Makenzie Luehring added seven points and seven rebounds for the Golden Grizzlies.

With the win, Charlotte evened its record at 3-3. Oakland fell to 2-3 on the season.
