Loyola Chicago at Illinois-Chicago
CHICAGO (Interstat) — A pair of Chicago programs seeking momentum will meet Saturday when the Loyola Chicago Ramblers face the Illinois-Chicago Flames in a non-conference women’s basketball game at UIC Pavilion.
Both teams enter the city showdown with 1-4 records. The Ramblers are looking to rebound from a 59-44 home loss to Illinois State on Tuesday. Alexa Kinas led Loyola with 11 points in the defeat, while Brooklyn Vaughn added 10 points. Loyola’s lone win this season came in its opener, a 59-55 victory at Milwaukee on Nov. 3.
The Flames are also coming off a lopsided loss, falling 74-53 to Wisconsin on Wednesday. Julia Coleman and Jessica Carrothers each scored 14 points for UIC in that contest. The Flames’ sole victory was a 66-55 home win over Northern Illinois on Nov. 13.
This matchup, organized by the Missouri Valley Conference, offers both teams a chance to reset before continuing their schedules. The game tips off at a venue shared by many of Chicago’s collegiate basketball programs.
