Boston University at Lafayette
EASTON, Pa. (Interstat) — A narrow Patriot League rematch awaits when the Lafayette Leopards host the Boston University Terriers in a women’s basketball matchup on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at Kirby Sports Center.
The conference foes met just two weeks prior on Jan. 7, with Lafayette (7-10) escaping Boston with a 65-64 victory. That result is indicative of both teams’ seasons, as each has struggled to find consistency. The Leopards sit at 7-10 overall, while the Terriers enter at 5-12.
Boston University seeks to halt a two-game skid, most recently falling 56-55 to Loyola Maryland on Saturday. The Terriers have been led recently by guard Inés Monteagudo, who posted 12 points and five assists in 35 minutes in that narrow loss. She followed a 15-point effort in a win at Lehigh on Jan. 14. Her performance will be pivotal for a BU offense that has averaged just 58.4 points in its last five games.
Lafayette looks to rebound from a 70-48 road loss to Holy Cross on Saturday. Guard Haley Poser provided a bright spot off the bench in that contest, scoring nine points. The Leopards have shown flashes, including a 62-49 win at Bucknell on Jan. 14, but have also endured lopsided defeats.
The game features two teams jockeying for position in the Patriot League standings midway through the conference schedule. Lafayette will aim to protect its home court and complete the regular-season sweep, while Boston University hopes to exact revenge and build momentum before hosting Colgate on Saturday.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
