PHILADELPHIA (Interstat) — Harvard used a decisive third-quarter surge to defeat Penn 53-42 in an Ivy League women’s basketball game Saturday at The Palestra.

The Crimson trailed 14-7 after the first quarter and 16-19 at halftime after a low-scoring second frame. Harvard seized control with a 22-point third quarter, outscoring the Quakers by 10 to take a lead it would not relinquish. Penn scored 14 points in the fourth but could not close the gap.

Harvard improved to 9-7 overall. Penn fell to 10-6. Attendance was 446.
