FOUNTAIN HILL, Pa. (Interstat) — Surging Lehigh looks to continue its climb in the Patriot League standings when it hosts struggling Boston University on Wednesday night at Stabler Arena.
The Mountain Hawks (8-7, 3-0 Patriot) have won four straight games, all in conference play, entering the matchup. Lehigh is coming off a dominant 64-45 home victory over Colgate on Saturday, where its defense held the Raiders to 29.6% shooting.
Lehigh is powered by guard Lily Fandre, who has averaged 20.2 points during the winning streak. She scored 21 points with seven rebounds against Colgate and had 23 points in a road win at Holy Cross on Jan. 7.
Boston University (4-11, 0-3) seeks its first conference win amid a five-game skid. The Terriers fell 64-57 at Army on Saturday. Their season has been marked by offensive struggles, scoring 65 points or fewer in 12 of their 15 games.
The Terriers will rely on forward Anete Adler, who has been a consistent bright spot. Adler is averaging 16.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game over her last five contests. She posted 18 points and eight rebounds in the loss to Army.
Lehigh’s early conference success has been built on defense, allowing an average of just 51.8 points in Patriot League games. Boston University has averaged only 54.0 points in its three league losses.
This is the first of two scheduled meetings between the programs this season. The Patriot League rivals will meet again in Boston on Feb. 22.
Following this game, Lehigh travels to face Navy on Saturday. Boston University returns home to host Loyola Maryland on Saturday.
Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. EST.
